Another confusing experience

I went to City Harvest with a gal friend today. There was this FIR performance so i thought no harm going over there. Anyway everything seemed like a rock concert.

As usual, since it is a church event, there is bound to be service. Actually i went to City Harvest in 2005. At that time it was in Kallang indoor stadium i think. I was very much intimidated when everyone start to raise their hands and speak in "tongues" (i am not sure if that is the right spelling) That time i was also pretty angry with my friends who brought me there as i was very much a big light bulb in between the two of them. (Aiya long story la) Today when i went there, when they start speaking like that, i was trembling like mad. Imagine the whole expo hall of dunno how many thousands of people speaking like that and there were some who actually cried too. And then after FIR performed, they were also asked to share how much they have changed after accepting Christ. Everything seemed touching and the way Reverand Kong talk seemed humorous and interesting. & he said things like the believers of Christ are saved and would go to heaven. I was like wondering there are so many religions on earth, so those who believed staunchly in other religion can't go? They teach good values too what! I think religion is a very confusing thing!

They are trying to create an "emotional" high so that the audience "feels" that they have been "touched" by an Omnipotent being.

Do you know why religion is confusing? Because religion is but a pure figment of humanity's imagination. Without which, it will be hard to deal with bereavement, morality, social order etc.... Religion is a BIG excuse tp make a person accept whatever is put forward to him/her without having to PROVE it's existence.

Example, Allah is GOD. Can one prove it? No. You just simply believe it. And religion gives you the political license to make statements without having to prove it.

Another example, "God is here in this room with us when we pray." Can anyone prove it? No. But does anyone believe that GOD can hear him when he prays? LOTS!

Why must there be earthquakes, floods and tsunamis and lots of innocent impoverished people die? There's no scientific answer. So the easiest answer is, "It is God's will."

Irrational. Ridiculous. But true.

Simply put.... it is way easier to indoctrinate a child that there is a GOD and we all do go somewhere else after death, than to tell a child that there is NO afterlife.

It is also way easier to just say "GOD" when humans ask questions to which science currently has no answers. Nothing happens AFTER a human dies. How do you tell your students such devastating news? If nothing happens when we die, the meaning of life quickly disappears. And it doesn't matter how many bad deeds we do. Men can go violate ALL the gals he desires and the birds can poop as much as they want on your purple "Boleh" car. Nothing matters. Because whatever happens, the sun till rises. The moon still shines. The tide rises and ebbs. And you are still clueless about your love life.

Even Mother Theresa, believed to be a staunch theist, wrote in her diary that she believed there is NO GOD. There are lots more examples but it will take my 60,000 words paper to elaborate.

Read "The God Delusion" by British biologies Richard Dawkins for a thorough explaination what "religion" is.

If you were born in Afganistan, you will most likely grow up to be a Muslim. China - Taoist. India - Hindu. Rome - Catholic. etc....

Hope this makes you a little less confused. Although you will ALWAYS still be confused. Just less. Unlike your good friend, who will ALWAYS be just as "confused".

Religion is when people don't think. You are BETTER than that, Ping.

To enjoy ur life on earth is good enuff.孔子曰:不知生焉知死。Leading a meaningful life is more impt to hynoptize urself into believing something which is unknown.

Dun get harvested in going there. When u are free, do something more meaningful. Even lying ard on the sofa is more meaningful then going there and waste bus fare and time.

City Harvest is well known to be an unorthodox Christain community. That "Holy" Reverend "Tua Kang" divorced his wife of many years for a transvestite look alike flithy rich problematic woman who had 20 over bfs and committed suicide several times, and had went to him for counselling. This woman is well known as Ho Yeow Sun.

Of course the story goes on, after marrying the "SUN", he became rich and City Harvest grow to what u see now today. All members are then forced to buy his wife's album, to let her lead the billboard and sales.

If everyone can go heaven, I strongly believe that 杞人忧天 has his point in believing that the sky will fall onto his head, cos the sky is full of bloody holy ppl.

Lastly, GOD? I only know there are alot of DOGs on the street. DOG is to GOD as KLIM is to MILK. We all must remember Jesus was once a sherperd when he was young, probably his sherperd DOG did save his life, so in membrance ....for u to imagine lah. Hahaha......
