The Return of Jadebottle (Part 1) Taiwan , Korea, Ipoh Msia

Jadebottle has rested for 2 years! She is coming back with more interesting things seen from her eyes. Recap from 2009....and Dec 2010 till now...

Dec 2009

This is a post long overdue but i was looking through past photos and i decided i must write something about my 2nd trip to Taiwan. This is a 3days F & E and 5 days leisure farmstay tour.

Day 1: I went with May for this trip and i had a pretty enjoyable and different experience. Taking on board SQ 878 and off we went to shop and play in Taiwan.

Day 2: I met M who was also in Taiwan and we decided to go to linjiushan. M wanted to look for 心道法师and we were very privileged to see him in person.

At night, i met up with May and her friends to have dinner at the Dream of Hobbits. This cafe has interesting props.

Day 3: We went on our way to Danshui. As usual, we went to the fisherman's wharf and took lots of photos. Be really careful when you are on the bus, the driver thinks he is participating in F1 and drives really recklessly. He made such a fast turn that i fall off from my seat and flew out from the left corner of the bus to the right!

Along the shops in fisherman wharf, we come across this really interesting shop which rent tribal clothes, we decided to take a costume and took lots of photos. The price is also pretty affordable. And the popo is a very nice lady too!
After that, May's frend, Ma Song, took us to the Miranmar Entertainment Park and took photos at night.
Day 4: We decided to stay in Rainbow hotel as the stay in the previous hotel wasnt that good. That night, i met up with May's church friends.
After that, we went to look for Jay's restaurant by the name of Mr J. The food is not too bad, price is not too expensive, from that i remember, a plate of spaghetti is less than SG 20 dollars. The ambience there is nice with all the posters and items from the show "Secret"

At the counter waiting to be seated.

The very popular piano in the movie
After the dinner, we headed for clubbing with Peter. He brought us to two clubs and one was called club 18 i think.

Day 5: We had such a late night last night, we slept quite alot. At night, we met with Ma Song again who brought us to Mao Kong. This place has quite a nice night scenery and alot of tea places. For young people to chill and talk and drink tea.

Day 6: We went for a gathering at a friends' place and just opposite his place was "xiao ju dan"!!! After which, we went to watch movies.

Day 7: We went to this little cafe called Casa Del Cacao. This place has very exquisite and elegant lighting.
Seeing that the weather is cold, it is always good to eat steamboat in such weather. After the dinner, we went for tea together.
A group photo after a sumptious dinner and tea!!!

Day 8: We head on via train to Yilan. The place we are staying in is called Provence, which has been designed by this couple whom we called Gao Papa and Gao Mama, They were really hospitable and nice.

Day 9:  I went to the traditional arts centre. Thanx to Gao Papa who sent me there.

The place has a beautiful park and young people sailing as well. Good and refreshing for people like me.

Day 10: Gao Papa and Gao Mama took us to the Lin Mei Shiban trail, where we can see natural lush greenery and beautiful waterfall. We had a really interesting hike before they sent us back to the train station to Taoyuan to continue our land tour.

Day 11: Part of land tour, in taipei at the CKS area.

We went up to Jiufen where we see the famous Tao Di player before we head to the Flying Cow Ranch.

Day 12: The day starts with activities in the Flying cow ranch, milking the cow was something that i have not tried before. Next we went to this earthquake museum where we were shown what happened during one of the disastrous earthquakes in taiwan.

After that was followed by a trip to Sun Moon Lake

And at night we reach Nantou where there are performances for us to watch.

Day 13: We travelled back to Taipei where we stay in the Fullon Hotel Taipei. I have known alot of new friends during this trip and definitely new experiences that i would bnever forget.

Dec 2010 Korea Free and Easy

I went on this trip with my best colleague and friend at work. Being total Korean drama fanatics, we decide to embark on the journey of searching for our korea drama.

Shall let the photos do the talking

Our very first bus express to Dong Seoul Bus Terminal

Secret Garden 's Hyun Bin was so popular during that time
On the 2nd day, we took a bus to Gang won Do and reached our Gyungpo beach hotel

A beach view.

Night view of our Gyung Po Beach
our favourite banana drink

Going for Sun Du Pu
We wanted to visit this the Unamjeong but we did not expect this place to be so far and our cab fare amounting to so much. Please do not try to go to this place unless you really want to try the food there. Or else, by travelling there to take photos only, doesn't seem to do much justice to the cab fare.
At the entrance towards the Sun Cruise Hotel

Visiting Jeong Dong Jin,
Visiting the Hasalia Art World

Our SeaEver Pension on the next day in Dong Hae

Going to Andong on the following day

The ancient Hahoe Village

The famous Andong Jim Dak, such a big place shared between the two of us

The night scene in Busan

At the famous Jagalchi market

Our Elysee Motel, at night, we saw cards of naked woman on the front door of the entrance. Apparantly, the motel turned into something else at night!!! But i tell you, the room is really very comfortable!!!

Around the shopping centre in Busan

Hauendae Beach

At the Lee and No Guesthouse. It is a very homely guesthouse and the manager actually made breakfast for us. We also get to know travellers from other countries. A different experience definitely
Tea Guesthouse. The place is not very easy to find and it is pretty pricey. I have tried it and i do not think i would stay in a traditional Hanok House again.

Walking along Yeouido Park

The dragon hill spa is at Sinyongsan Street, from Line no. 4. Quite a touristy spa though.

Having Tea in Insadong and we found a tea that feels like Singapore
Our last night in Seoul Ambassador hotel. The hotel is a four star hotel but it has 5 star facilities. I really like it alot. Pretty comfortable.

After the Korea Trip, went back to SG to rest afew days before a short family trip to Malaysia Ipoh. We went to Segamat area to meet my relatives before going up with them to KL. Stayed with them for a day before departing to Ipoh.
Taking the railway train from KL to Ipoh
the scenic view along the way.

After meeting my uncle, we went with their family up to Cameron Highlands. We went to this cactus farm where we see lots of colourful plants and cactus.

The cold weather up in the mountains make it really good to eat steamboat.
After which, we make our way to the bee farm and see how they rear the bees to make honey. Look at the tea fields. The toilets there are very special, you can overlook the whole tea field while squatting at the toilet bowl, How natural!!!
Eating special Ipoh delicacies for dinner, the Ipoh Horfun looks like that and the 芽菜鸡!

神仙:
月老
观音
济公
财神

The cave up there have all the deities carved and statues inside. I am very stunned how the statues can actually be put inside the cave like that.

A very interesting trip i would say. Here's wishing all having longevity which means 长寿
