Christmas in Singapore 2013

I never really spent Christmas in Singapore as during the previous years, i was always overseas and would be pretty tired when i returned during the Christmas season. Last year December 2013, i did not go travelling as i have delayed my plans for my world tour in 2014. With my twin, we decided to go around Singapore and embarked on a journey of discovering Singapore during Christmas season. Most lights would be up in December, some places and decorations would be up as early as late November.

Our first supposingly Christmas discovery was at Keppel Bay, actually Christmas discovery was not part of the plan, we were just there at Prive for dinner. However, i would like to mention, the place is very nice and quiet for little chats, it is near to Harbour Front MRT station, it would be better to drive in or take a cab in from the station.

Our second Christmas discovery was at Marina Bay Sands area, this place is along the circle line, Bayfront station. That place really is a good photo spot. And along the little river area, there are Christmas trees that lined up the pathway, sponsored by many big companies. There was also this big Christmas tree in the Marina Bay shopping mall.

Lastly, how can anyone miss the Christmas lights at Orchard road. Every year, Orchard road would always be lighted up with decorations and bright lights, making everything so wonderful and magical.

A glimpse of what happen before 2013 ends

It has been 4 months since my last post.

I was really busy, was planning  for the year 2014... at least for the first half of the year and yes, FINALLY i can blog about it.

But before i moved on about my plans, the last two months in 2013 has been really dramatic, but it is definitely on the good side. Tons of activities and planning, wanted to revise my korean language in Nov and practise cooking in Dec, but in the end, did not do much of those...

Halloween 2013
I spent halloween quietly, realise that as one grow older, halloween is like a waste of money, from renting of costumes to the dressing up, its all $$$, i still have my witch costume ( the black frock which i threw away last year) and my witch hat ( which i still keep and thinking of selling it off if anyone wants).

A friend, had organised a halloween dressed up party at his place, and both M and me decided to attend, and told ourselves not to spend too much. So, our costumes were all sewed. She got this green spaghetti skin tight dress for me for just 10 dollars and i went to buy this material at spotlight to sew and pinned on the dress. Fortunately, i managed to borrow a pair of wings from my colleague and i manage to pass off as a very simple tinkerbell. Make up does wonders, looking at all sorts of youtube videos, i manage to make my eyes bigger for the make up, and settle the make up in an hour. Not the best but whatever la...

November is a month of feasting. Be prepared for food pictures coming up...

Thank you to my twin for the wonderful Japanese food at Mikuni restaurant at Fairmount. It is quite pricey but i think Amex cardholders have 50 percent off so overall, the price for the food still seems pretty ok.

Another food experience was eating food on this river boat, http://www.riverboat.com.sg/

It is at Marina South pier and the restaurant is called Santa Fe. We took the promotion of this 1 for 1 deal on Tuesday and decided to check out this place. Food was okay, the ambience is quite nice and quiet. Occasionally, you might feel the boat shaking abit as there were boats that went past but other than that, it was an interesting experience.

Last but not least, November was a time for me to say goodbye, i resigned from my current job, would talk more about this in my next two posts. So i attended the last staff learning journey with my wonderful colleagues.

Blind date and Color Run

Wicked Weekend Blind Date Edition

Ok i attended this wicked weekend blind date edition yesterday by lunch actually
http://www.lunchactually.com/wicked-weekend/

I was into this blind date idea as it is really interesting to do some speed date in the dark, and hearing only the voice of the other person. Isn't it challenging? The moment lunch actually sent me this, i registered for it immediately. After being shortlisted, i put on my best dress and took the trouble to doll up for the event. When i entered the ballroom in Hotel Fort Canning, i see flashes of light everywhere. Oh ya, did i say that SET (Sony Entertainment TV) is filming this down. There was a hall for the ladies and make up artists were there to do touch up for the ladies. DJ Shan Wee and Cheryl Miles were the hosts for the event, & Shan Wee is really tall. I was sitting right in front, and have to sit back abit so that my neck would not be too strained. We were divided into 4 groups and brought into dark chambers. Each gal has a cubicle to talk to a guy on the other side. I felt that i was like punishing myself, cos when i punished my pupils, i always asked them to go face the wall , (面壁思过) . And it also feels like, i am there to confessed to the pastor " pastor, i have sinned for still being single at my age!"

Back to the whole event, guys were rotated every 5mins, so every 5mins when they rotate, i be like " hello hello, testing 123, anyone there" It was quite fun at first, there were young voices, matured voices, intelligent voices...etc...etc. So after supposingly dated with 13 guys( actually there were 12) , i was totally exhausted, talking about almost the same things and cannot remember what i have told them. We were supposed to rate as we talk, giving 5 hearts to the person who can communicate with you very well. After everything, i was approached by this lady from another group, quite pretty and matured around my age, she asked me" you are very pretty, why are you still single?" Actually, deep down in me, i have this same question for her, and i believe our answers are the same, we are not choosy, we just cannot find the person with the same chemistry as us who can communicate with us. After the speed date, we were brought to the main hall, where we can mingle with guys from the other groups, there were 2 or 3 guys i thought i can talk to, but apparantly i could not find them in the hall. Perhaps, the organisers should first use 15mins to group those in the same groups together before opening up to other groups. I talked to 12 but i only manage to identify 6 of them. I could not find the rest. Its ok la, if i am fated to see them, i will see them somehow, somewhere, sometime...

Lastly, there were some games, and the winners for the staycation were announced. I did not get the staycation. It is ok, i still enjoy this blind date event and get to know some new friends. I would have stayed and interacted more if not for my Color Run after that.

Color Run 2013 in Sentosa

Color Run! I have waited for this for one month plus and was very excited about it. Alot of friends asked me, why is it that i do not join marathons, you know like 10k, 21k...Sorry la, 21k is too demanding on my knees, and i feel that i do not need to pay so much money to run with people in marathons. I ran to maintain my fitness level and i can do that on my own. This run is interesting, as it is not a competitive run but a fun run along the way. Anyway, It is finally held in Singapore. I remembered the day it opened up for registration, the early bird registration was full after two hours for the one on the 17th, i have to ask around if anyone has CIMB card to do the registration. Thanx to one of my friends who helped me with it!

At the run, you see happening people around, some dressed in wigs and afro, in colourful angelic skirts and white clothes. Very interesting sight. Everyone seemed to know each other, cheering people along the way, giving high fives as we passed by. Seeing the whole atmosphere, you just become happy automatically. I would say it is one of the most crazy things that i have ever done since i left university.

Here are the photos of the run.

After everything, we had a "good time" washing off the colour, my white bag became red. My neck still have pink patches...But still, i really had a good time! :)

My Birthday

My birthday is on racial harmony day and this year it falls on a Sunday. I organised a dinner gathering with some of my closest friends at Hyang Tol Gol restaurant in Amara hotel two days before it. It was supposed to be a dinner for 14 people but apparantly, some of them told me last minute, that they are tied up with work and could not make it so it was reduced to 10. But still, i am glad i have them to agree to celebrate this day with me.

Food at the restaurant was relatively good. The waitress would help to barbeque the food for us and i enjoyed the nong ju ( they said it was the makgeoli), the drink does not have a strong alcohol taste and is a little on the sweet side. We had a good time catching up and sharing on the latest updates of what is happening in our lives now. To end it all, they had planned a cake for me and with it a bday song. :)
Thank you my dear friends!

Not forgetting other friends who have sent me birthday greetings through other modes of communication, be it whatsapp, facebook, thank you for your birthday wishes despite all your busy commitments. I feel very blessed to have you all! :)

Friends

These few days i have this question in my mind...What is the definition of friends?

With the popularity of facebook coming up, it seemed everyone can be friends with each other, building their very own network of friends in their profile....BUT is it really so? Are they really your very very true friends? To me, i have 4 categories of friends.

Best friends: I have a few best friends only. Those whom i can talk and share everything under the sun, perhaps even my " darkest" secrets. Whom we would make a point to talk to each other almost everyday, whom i know i dun need to be reminded to share my things with because everything is out of my own free will.

Good friends: These friends are categorised as we do talk but some secrets are still kept hidden...

Normal friends: They are those whom you can communicate and those who we try to meet maybe a few times in a year.

Acquaintances: Friends' friends. Those whom we will meet when we go for "mass" gatherings and parties

However, with all these social networking sites coming up, they made it like everyone knows each other. For eg, A and B are good friends, so A thinks that B's friends are his/her friends, so A goes around messaging B's friends whom were also added into A's profile.
I've got a very important question, if A has not even seen or even talked to B's friends before, how can they be considered as friends? Unless they have been messaging actively ( AND I REALLY MEAN ACTIVELY) till both are comfortable to be "promoted" to friends level. If it were me, (Ok maybe it is just me) i'll feel extremely weird. Imagine i have a friend called "Harry", then one day this "Tom" message me said ," Hi!!! I'm Harry's friend! ." You know i be like thinking....so what! I dislike it when people tries to use their friends as the excuse. A friend of mine told me her guy friend goes around adding her friends using her name lo!!! I think i will dislike it too if i know my friends be it guy or gal go around adding my friends whom they have never met.
Worse still, some people "suka suka" add without any message...SO RUDE!!!
In addition, i realised some profiles...ok maybe i'm just prejudiced....i kinda pissed off with profiles with many friends perhaps 500....BUT out of 500, 480 are gals (For a guy's profile) , n the 480 are those very chio...or at least not bad looking ones! Please la, how can that be right..., how can a guy who lived for 20 over to 30 years know just a few guys friends in his life?

Next...i have an issue with acquaintances. Some "friends" are added because i have the thinking that they are nice people and can keep in contact. But these "friends" can be in your profile but they cannot even be bothered to talk to you. Even when we send a simple Hi, they DID NOT EVEN REPLY!!! RUDE RUDE! I feel that there is no need to be arrogant. If you are busy, just say so la, or leave a msg after that. If not, i think i can just say BYE to these friends,no point leaving them in my profile.

Right now, i am currently spring cleaning my profile of friends. Those friends whom i think i can dun bother having them, you be off my list very soon. I usually dun add strangers, unless you try to correspond first sincerly with messages and of course you are not up to anything funny. If not, you want me to add you? Wait long long...

Thank you my dear friends

I celebrated my birthday 2 days ago. It was suppose to be in 2 hours time but who would want to celebrate birthdays on a Monday?... so i decided to organise it earlier. First, we went to Hanabi for dinner and then we went chilling out at Loof Bar at Odeon Towers. I think i had fun as we were drinking and playing stupid games with one another. The fun was started when everyone was daring to take the "dares", ya we were playing truth or dare. Let the photos do the talking

Outside Hanabi posing the first photo of the night

Thanks so much to my best friend for everything. I hope you enjoyed yourself!

Thanx E! And also for being so sporting in the game. I was so frightened when u went up to talk to the 洋人

Thanx R! U have the "potential"!

These party is fun because you both are there!

Thanx bros for coming too!!! Oh ya! Happy belated birthday Gerrard!

Thank you all for the delicious cake, and for giving me my new name...gorgeous...

Thank you gals! I hope all of u did enjoy yourself!

I would not say much about the truth or dare game. It is going to be just between those who went for my party. What i can reveal is, most of us did things that i think we would not do normally when we are in our rational self. I think we are really crazy!!! Hahaha!

Last but not least
Not to forget Ivy who came down to Hanabi specially to look for me despite her hectic schedule. I love the top alot! Thank you! Muacks!

Thanks Leslie for remembering and spending some time for dinner with me. Oh ya and the piggy speaker...sooo cute!!! Long time never see u le, i miss you alot ok! Must meet up more often ok!

Thanks Bernard for the dinner treat just now too. I hope we did not scare u off when u come to my party.

Oh ya...the time is 9.45 pm and i be 27 years old in 2 hours and 15 minutes time!!!

Are u a friend??? + some ACF Photos..

"it is hard to trust people, even some friends cannot be trusted...this is making the world even more scary"

Something dramatic has happened on the wednesday that has passed. It is our once in a blue moon salsa gathering.... Aiya, i jus cut the story short, Mich got her wallet stolen at the club. Of course she was very sad but the most surprising thing is that the wallet was stolen by someone in our group, a friend of our salsa gang. She saw the theft on CCTV
and the bouncers are all confirmed it is him. We are not very acquainted with this Mr Thief as this is my 3rd time seeing him around. We tried not to let him escape the club. When he knows that we suspected him, he act blur and asked us what the story was, we did not say anything as we were dragging the time and waiting for the police to arrive. ....Well well, he even asked the bouncers if there was a back door!!! That shows that he is guilty isn it!!!??????
The security and bouncers were very good, they helped her to stop that thief. When the police arrived, they too see the cctv and interrogate Mr Thief...who still denied. So no choice, he is brought to the station and Mich has to file a report there. Her wallet was later found in the bushes and i am very sure his fingerprints would be on it...

So now folks, i ve learnt a lesson that we cannot even trust 2nd degree friends. Pls open your eyes wide when u make friends, some people would only bring trouble to u and they only want to take advantage of u, dun be taken for granted!

Anyway here are the photos taken at the expo

Representing Piano Culture. (Anyone wanna learn piano or guitar??)

Wakeboarding + Spooky trail at nite

Wakeboarding

Yesterday was a very very exciting day. I tried wakeboarding for the first time...and really had alot of fun....Though i tink i am terribly lousy...couldn manage to stand and balance...the moment i tried to stand, i fall...and not only that i strained my arm muscles. When i went home,i still need to prepare to go for the Spooky trail organised by API and Punggol CC.

Here are some photos...Before wakeboarding
During wake boarding, i 'm damm tired...cant climb up...so paisehAll of us...we planned to go again next month...

Posing with Raymond's board...with Duncan and Raymond
After everything...So tired but enjoyable.

Spooky Trail
After that went to join Ivy in this spooky trail in the evening. First we went o Labrador Park where there are 2 tunnels...They say some people saw things in the 2nd tunnel...well...i din see anything and i dun wanna see also...For someone who always freak out at horror shows, i thought i just wanna test if i am daringThis is the first tunnel...it is more lit up....Did not really take any photos in the 2nd tunnel...after that we went to Grange Road to see 3 deserted big houses. No photos though
Taken on the bus while the rest went for a break...The next stop was coffee hill which i got pretty scared...cos the forest trail is very dark and i keep having shivers...while walkin, i only looked at the ground, it was to make sure i din step onto any muddy ground but i am just preventing myself from seeing anything i not supposed to see. Last stop was CCK cemetary, it was pretty crowded......dun worry its all humans...i supposed... cos there are priests doing rituals. Its quite an interesting tour, i learnt quite alot of things. The API leader was telling us alot of stories on our way back but i was so tired i fell asleep.Hey whole day out leh...but fulfilling!

"ARRESTED"??

I was sent to the police headquarters yesterday night...

HAHAHAHA
GUESS WAT HAPPEN....???

Actually i did not commit any offence...i was watching X men with my friend and after the show, he accidentally left his hp on the seat. It was just within 2 min when he discovered but he could not find it when we return there. I tried to call his phone and that BLOODY DAMMED PHONE "STEALER" off the hp.

I can feel the 心痛 cos 2 yrs ago, when i used to be in AM, my phone was pickpocketed in crowded Wisma Atria. My friend who was with me also got hers stolen too. The person who did it was dammed skilful. Can you imagine, all my friends contacts are lost especially it was so impt to me that time.I cooped myself up at home for 2 days, troubled over the loss.

So anyway, my friend's phone was only 3months old...at that time i wish i was Jean Gray who has psychic powers, then i can use my powers and make that phone stealer explode on the spot!!!hahaha den shall get the phone float back to him.... but of course....its kinda impossible, i am not a mutant.

As he is from the SPF, i went with him to report the loss and settle the necessary stuff. First time 大摇大摆地去警局...thats how i ended up there lo.

Anyway, go to hell that phone stealer, and may his hands rot for 七七四十九天 for taking things that don't belong to him!!!

Valentine's Day

I HATE VDAY...

(To those who don't wanna get depressed, then do not continue reading)

I never think that vday is that special, even when i was 17 and i received my first supposingly vday gift from a guy (i was fr a gals sch)...As i grow older, this day to me was friendship day as all my fellow girl frens are all like me...single and free...(my concept is this day can only be spent with very good frens or my that special one). When i know my ex bf 2yrs back, i thought finally i can spend this day more fulfilling, however, i realised its nothing much.

Last year's vday was spend at home, engrossed in work. Today i initially wanted to spend it at home too after school, but went out for dinner with a very good fren. The streets are filled with so many lovey dovey couples with flowers in their hands....i felt damm bloody uncomfortable and in addition i keep harboring the thought that i have not finished my assignment. Therefore after dinner, i decide i must escape from this "reality", i must go home!

Ok, i have no dates so wat!(i just cannot go out with anyone that i have no feelings for rite and my girl frens now mostly attached...), no vday gifts, no flowers (i 'm not crazy about flowers but...peer pressure works)...

I am starting to feel more and more inferior and less confident of myself. Sometimes i wonder should i just continue in my search for my 理想情人 "dream lover"or just accept anyone that comes into my life....haiz...

ROM

24th December

Not only was that day Christmas eve, but also the day Bernie to be addressed as Madam...really felt happy for her that she has found the one for her. My JC squash friend, whom we share laughter and tears during our matches, who was my kaki for gossip and Kpoh sessions and many many more...
The ceremony was held at Hotel Rendevous. I was their emcee and "OT" photographer...haha...hopefully i din do a bad job... was kinda nervous but glad that everything went on smoothly.
Once again, my dear friend. Congratulations! Wishing ya a blissful and happy married life!!
